Branch Sofia is among the leading structures of “Start Engineering” JSC, where more than 60 highly qualified electrical engineers are working, having great practical experience, obtained in the course of execution of numerous projects. The teams of branch Sofia are taking part in the biggest projects in the country, and they have received numerous awards and distinctions, for their professionally executed works, including on key projects at a national scale in the infrastructure and power industry of Bulgaria.

The branch in Sofia has also specialists in the field of automation and installation works. ТThis gives us a possibility to provide our clients with complete service on the execution of a given project. The company can offer the execution of any engineering activities on part “Electrical”, which include work on engineering infrastructural sites, including replacement and work on: MV and LV cable installations; telecommunications; street lighting; current rectifying stations and power supply of urban transportation network. Until the present time we have successfully accomplished projects, related to engineering infrastructural sites of the transport infrastructure of the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) and the National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC), including: 110/27,5 kV traction power substations;110kV transmission lines and current rectifying stations; telecommunications. “Start Engineering” JSC has implemented SCADA I&C systems of dams, among which is Tzankov kamak, Beli Iskar, Iskar, as well as constructed SCADA systems for control of the technological processes in brewery and industrial establishments. Among the reference projects of the company is the Kamenitza brewery, Carlsberg brewery, as well as SCADA system for power control of establishments in the power industry, is what has been specified by the Bulgarian engineering company.

As part of the structure of “Start Engineering” JSC, Branch “Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning” proved itself as a reliable and accurate contractor with the construction of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems of various business, administrative, power and other sites.

Branch “Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning” has designers’ bureau, which serves the groups, located in the major economic and power centers in the country. The high qualification and profiling of the specialists allow for quick and high quality preparation of conceptual technical and final designs on part HVAC.

The “Workshop for air ducts and ventilation elements” is furnished with high performance and precise machines. The qualification of the personnel and organization of production allow for the trouble free provision of the sites with the necessary half-finished material.

The “Bureau for delivery of ventilation and air conditioning equipment” communicates with the different manufacturers and the perfect knowledge of the newest achievements in their field allow them to make quick and precise deliveries, which ensure a high quality and reliable operation of the systems. Working groups, equipped with reliable and up-to-date equipment are executing the installation of the systems in full volume, high quality and in time.

„Laboratory for adjustment” at “Start Engineering” JSC is state authorized, and the technical protocols, issued after mechanical adjustment and effective measurements of the parameters, are valid before the different institutions for final handing over/acceptance of the systems.

This structure and qualification of the personnel allowed for the company in the last few years to execute and commission heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems of major economic, administrative and power sites.

Branch “Automation” of “Start Engineering”JSC is specialized to execute complete engineering in the field of the industrial automation. Thanks to the many years long experience in this field (more than 50 projects have been executed for the last 15 years in the Power, Metallurgical, Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Cellulose-paper industries etc.), as well as to their team, consisting of experienced in this field specialists, the department is able to offer its customers complex services of high quality.

Engineering activities:

• Research works and preparation of conceptual/technical designs;
• Detailed design, including Application Software - Development of Final designs in compliance with the Technical assignments, design standards in Bulgaria, regulatory documents (laws, regulations, methodology and other official Bulgarian standardization documents and European Union documents);
• Selection and delivery of equipment:
  • Control systems (DCS, SCADA) of leading world manufacturers;
  • Programmable logic controllers (PLC);
  • Continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS);
  • I&C equipment (includes a broad spectrum of devices and systems for analytical measurements), stopping and control valves, actuating mechanisms etc.
  • Other means, specific for the relevant applications.
• Installation works - Specialized installation of the delivered systems and equipment;
• Starting-up and introduction works

  • More than 58 successfully introduced systems in 47 different sites/installations in Bulgaria;
  • Activities: Design, Delivery of equipment, Installation, Starting-up and commissioning works, training and service provision;
  • Equipment: Gas-analyzing systems, instrumentation equipment, PLC – from АВВ, Dust and flow measurements - from DURAG.
• Completed more than 27 different projects (mainly in the cellulose-paper industry and in the power industry) in countries such as Great Britain, France, Finland, The Netherlands, Greece, Turkey etc. as a subcontractor of VALMET Automation (before – METSO) including development of Application Software, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Starting-up and commissioning works.
